Why I'm in favour of HS2:

- Benefit is to local train services, as well as those between cities
- Environmental impact far less than road schemes
- We need huge rail investment for climate-related reasons
- You can't just add extra tracks to existing lines without demolishing huge numbers of houses
- People who know how the rail network works tend to be in favour
